A new criminal complaint filed by Melody Rakauskas ended with the case being closed in Buenos Aires Province. This time, the model accused a lawyer in the city of Azul of rape. The investigation was launched after a 911 call and a complaint filed at a police station, with the local prosecutor’s office and a guarantees court stepping in.
According to the account included in the case file, Rakauskas alleged that she was served alcohol mixed with clonazepam, that there were cameras inside the house, that she was insulted during the encounter, and that the lawyer displayed a firearm. The incident reportedly ended with her outside on the street and police responding.
Judge dismissed the case and the lawyer appealed
Prosecutors summoned the complainant to formally confirm the allegation, a standard step in such proceedings. However, the complaint was not confirmed despite multiple options reportedly offered, including remote alternatives. With no confirmation, the judge ordered the dismissal of the case for lack of action.
The accused lawyer, identified as JPM, has appealed the ruling. He argues that the alleged घटना did not occur and says he wants a court decision that explicitly states there was no crime, in order to protect his reputation. The appellate court is now expected to review the challenge.
The report also notes that Rakauskas has filed multiple criminal complaints in the past against different individuals and public figures, with several of those cases ending in dismissals or being closed on procedural grounds.
